CALLI POPHAM
She is Passionate and playful, with an infectious childlike enthusiasm, obsessed with the moon, music, the sea, the sunrise and is always found standing on her hands.
She grew up ‘on the road’, travelling Europe with her wild child Mama, who sang in a reggae band, and her older brother, in a red bus called Rosie.
She was the last baby to have a naming ceremony at Stonehenge and has fond memories of their travels: from stamping on buckets of grapes in the south of France, during her mum's fruit picking jobs, to collecting money in a hat after her mama’s busking sessions, then trawling through small french streets to buy croissants with their earnings.
Despite movement and yoga playing a huge part in her life from her early teens, she fell down many rabbit holes and took many winding paths to find her way home to teaching as a career, from all night raves to high flying corporate jobs and attempts at ‘making it’ in the music industry.
So many lessons were learned and it was her yoga mat that would cradle her in the puddles of burn-out.
Calli is passionate about non linear, non traditional ways in which to embody movement, never buying into guru culture, due to not taking kindly to being told what to do or how to do it by anyone, Calli has made it her life’s mission to find her own way.
